Domain Name Registrar Transfer

What is a Domain Name Transfer?
You may use the domain name transfer process to submit a request for a domain name transfer from another ICANN-accredited registrar to us. Transferring a domain name to us means that you are choosing us as the registrar of record for that domain name, allowing you to take advantage of our wholesale pricing for domain name registration and renewal. Unlike other registrars, we keep your contact information private.
What does it cost?
Transfers cost $18 per domain name and automatically extend your registration by one year from its current expiration date (you may extend your registration further after the transfer is complete by using our renewal form).
Criteria:
In order to qualify, the requesting member must meet the following criteria:
  • Your membership must be in good standing.
  • The domain name must relate to your work as an author (author names, titles, series titles, character names and works in progress are acceptable).
How the process works:
Our affiliate, BulkRegister.com, will send an e-mail to the Administrative Contact of each domain as it appears in the Network Solutions Whois database to confirm your request. You can speed up the transfer process by replying promptly if you are the Administrative Contact or by asking the Administrative Contact to reply promptly. If you do not answer the confirmation request e-mail within 5 days of receiving it, the transfer will be unsuccessful.

It may take up to three weeks for the transfer to take place.

For your protection, we will not make any changes to the domain name record during the transfer process. After a successful transfer, no modifications will be allowed to the domain name record for 15 days.

Possible reasons we may be unable to process a transfer include (but are not limited to):

  • you are not the Registrant, Administrative Contact or Technical Contact
  • the name has been registered less than 60 days
  • the name is not registered with an ICANN-accredited registrar
  • the Administrative Contact of the domain refused the transfer request

If the expiration date for a domain name approaches and we have not contacted you, we recommend that you renew the domain name with your current registrar before making a transfer request.

How to request a registrar transfer:
