The Authors Guild is pleased to offer its members an economical means of reserving their author names and titles as Internet domain names (URLs). This service does not create websites for authors. Instead, it holds the names you've chosen for future use by any website-hosting service you choose, including our website building-and-hosting service. By reserving through the Authors Guild, you protect your privacy, since our name and contact information will appear in all public records (we'll change that information at any time you'd like).
You also save money. Network Solutions, the standard domain name reservation company, charges individuals up to $70 for two years. By registering domain names in bulk, the Authors Guild can offer its members a deep discount ($18 per year for .com, .net, .org, .info, .us, and .biz domain names).

STEP 1. Choose the domain names you'd like reserved.
Domain names are not case sensitive: MarkTwain.com is the same domain name as marktwain.com. However, different suffixes signify different domain names: marktwain.com is an entirely different domain name than marktwain.net. Generally, the ".com" suffix is preferable.
Help choosing domain names
Important: Please type carefully the name you'd like for us to reserve. A domain name (including suffix) cannot exceed 67 characters in length. We will reserve it, if it is available, precisely as you enter it.
STEP 2. Authorize payment.
We prefer you to pay by credit card. We will not charge your card until we confirm that the domain name(s) you've chosen are available. After a domain name's registration, we will keep your credit card on file for automatic renewal. You will have the opportunity to cancel the renewal of your domain name registration each year, when we remind you by e-mail that your registration is coming up for renewal. Your registration will be renewed, and your credit card will be charged $18, unless you tell us to cancel your renewal before the renewal date. (Please be sure to keep us informed of your proper e-mail address so you receive our notifications.)

If a domain name you've selected is not available, we'll contact you using the e-mail address you've provided and ask whether you'd like us to reserve an alternate domain name.

By submitting this application, you agree to be bound by the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy as approved by ICANN, the non-profit agency in charge of domain names.
