Lloyd J. Jassin is a publishing attorney and co-author of The Copyright Permission & Libel Handbook (John Wiley & Sons). His practice includes drafting and negotiating publishing and entertainment industry contracts, vetting manuscripts for defamation and privacy issues, copyright counseling, trademark search and registration, and general business and legal advice. Before becoming an attorney, he was Director of Publicity for Prentice Hall Press and the Simon & Schuster General Reference Group. Prior to that, he was associated with St. Martin's Press. He is a adjunct professor at the NYU Publishing Program, where he teaches a course on digital rights.
