David W. Brown
Hello, my name is David W. Brown. I am a writer from Louisiana, though much of my work is written from 30,000 feet while flying from one research trip or conference to the next. My upcoming book, THE MISSION, will be published in 2020 by Custom House, an imprint of HarperCollins. It is a work of creative nonfiction, and tells the story of a plucky group of scientists who have spent their lives convincing NASA to send a spaceship to Europa, the ocean moon of Jupiter. My next book, to be published in 2022, is about Antarctica and climate change. (I recently returned from a grueling Antarctic expedition while researching the book.)
My editor is the brilliant Geoff Shandler of Custom House and my literary agent is the relentless Stacia Decker of Dunow, Carlson & Lerner. Previous books include Deep State (John Wiley & Sons, 2013), and The Command (Wiley, 2012). Bylines of mine include The New York Times, Scientific American, Foreign Policy, and The Atlantic, among other places. I am a regular commentator for television and radio, and I am very tired.
