Brenda (B.K.) Walker
Brenda (B.K.) Walker: author—copywriter—editor—resident humorist and yack-a-matic extraordinaire.
When people need to express their emotions through the written word but don't know how—they need a wordsmith. When wordsmith's need an extra pair of eyes to cross their t's and dot their i's, they need a diligent editor. Brenda (B.K.) Walker does that and much, much more.
Earning the nick-name "Yack-a-matic" came early for Ms. Walker—becoming a writer was a "given." Becoming an editor was a necessity born of the need to see punctuation and grammar utilized to enhance the written word, not destroy it. It is Brenda's Master of Arts degree that gave her the opportunity to fine-tune her research, writing, and editing skills.
Brenda (B.K.) Walker is a published copywriter, professional editor, and sought after content development and coordination specialist. She understands the nature of B2B and B2C marketing and the importance of growing a client base while maintaining the relationships with established customers. But it is her understanding of the important bond between the freelancer and the client that makes the work fluid.
It was her move to Nashville, TN that was the motivation behind her tongue-in-cheek paperback, "The Lie Book." Years of hearing musician after struggling musician say, "I'm this close to a record deal," then running out of those little 45 rpm adapters (those small plastic inserts you put in the middle of 45's so you can play them on a stereo, also known as "record deals"), and listening to one tall tale after another, Ms. Walker (with a little nudge from her musician ex-husband) thought it was time to create a way for folks to be able to track their "little white lies."
Through her desire to continue her mother's passion for the arts, Ms. Walker has several works in process including a children's book series initiated by her mother, a murder mystery, and a YA fiction novel.
Brenda (B.K.) Walker's SUPERPOWERS as a virtual wordsmith that turns dreary data, facts, numbers and/or drafts into marketable call-to-action content, her eagle-eye for editing and Health Documentation Review, and her Professional medical and single/2- speaker transcription and editing are what allows her to continue working on her passion projects.
Since the passing of her beloved mother at the early age of 57, Ms. Walker continues to live a quiet life in Tennessee enjoying every possible moment with a man she admires and values—her loving father.
B.K.'s motto: by George Gordon Byron, "A drop of ink may make a million think."
