I was born in Philadelphia and was nicknamed “JK” by my friends. I got my first writing credit in grade school when Highlights Magazine published my Letter to the Editor. While studying Law Enforcement and Journalism at Penn State’s main campus, I put my passion for photography to work. I’d travel to auto races across the country on weekends and got lucky when magazines started to buy my action and feature photos. It seemed only natural to write the stories to go with them and before long “J.K.” had writing credits in Car Craft and in Super Stock & Drag Illustrated.
From there I got my dream job and moved to Charlotte to work with driver Darrell Waltrip as the Public Relations Director for the Gatorade 88 NASCAR team. After that I worked for 28 years at VP Racing Fuels as their Regional Manager for Europe and an extensive part of North America. In 2015 I took an early retirement to spend much more time with my growing family and get back into my writing full time. FOUND IN TIME is my debut novel and I’m deep into a sequel. I’m also putting the finishing touches on FUELIN' AROUND, an intriguing, action packed work of non-fiction set in the fast paced world of international motorsport.
I’m very happily married to my dear Lisa and have three adult children and two beautiful granddaughters. I love travel, coffee, beer, a great steak, and a book I can’t put down. My favorite cities are Philly, Jackson Hole, Quebec, and Rome. My favorite movies are the original True Grit and Cinderella Man. Favorite television programs are The West Wing and Survivor. Feeling very blessed and appreciating life every day!
