A former Esquire staffer and Playboy magazine editor and columnist, John Blumenthal is the author of seven books including the comic novels, “The Case of the Hardboiled Dicks,” (Simon & Schuster), “The Tinseltown Murders,” (Simon & Schuster), "What’s Wrong with Dorfman?" (St. Martin’s Press), "Millard Fillmore, Mon Amour,” (St. Martin’s Press) and "Three and a Half Virgins” (Farmer Street Press.) He has also written for television and is the co-author of the movies "Blue Streak” (Columbia Pictures) and "Short Time” (Twentieth-Century Fox). His work has appeared in Punch, Playboy, Esquire, Oui, the Los Angeles Times, Publishers Weekly, Today's Health, the Christian Science Monitor, American Woman, Men's Life, TV Guide, National Lampoon, The Huffington Post, Salon, Dailykos, Medium and other publications.
