I am the author of two non-fiction books: Words in My Hands, A Teacher, A Deaf-Blind Man, An Unforgettable Journey, (2005) (2012), Ellexa Press, LLC, and Hearing the Stream, A Survivor’s Journey into the Sisterhood of Breast Cancer, (2009)( 2012), Ellexa Press, LLC, and the producer and narrator of SSPs: What Are They and Why Are They Necessary, (DVD, 2011), Ellexa Press, LLC.

Professionally, I am a nationally certified sign language interpreter with 40 years of experience.

As a writer, I am the past president and current vice president of the National League of American Pen Women Denver Branch.
As a breast cancer survivor and advocate, I am a 2003 graduate of the National Breast Cancer Coalition’s Project LEAD, and have participated in NBCC’s Advocacy Trainings in Washington D.C., and their Lobby Days on Capital Hill. I attended the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium and graduated from the Alamo Breast Cancer Patient Advocate Program in 2005. Locally, I have volunteered for the American Cancer Society’s Reach to Recovery Program, the Susan G. Komen’s annual Multicultural Conference and have presented on cancer awareness and education to Denver’s Deaf Community.
