Nzinga LeJeune was born and raised on the east side of Detroit. She is a graduate of Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School and earned her B.A. degree in education from Hampton University. After studying multi-language learning at California State University, she went on to earn her Masters Degree in Social Justice from Marygrove College. Currently she is earning a Graduate Certificate with an International Policy concentration from Harvard University. Her community work involves activism for water rights, education reform, and building
Independent Freedom Schools as she writes African Centered Curriculum for Children. She is author of a powerful poetry book, children's book, and producer of documentary-short all titled #WaterINJUSTICE.
