John Gregory Evans
My passion for writing began in my freshman English class during high school. During my college studies I excelled in Comp. I & Comp. II. I have always known I desired to be a writer even at age 11 as I wrote short stories with a friend of mine. The last twenty years or better I have been writing essays and poetry.
Having survived the Vietnam War era, I suffered severely through Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder through a combat-related trauma. I have written two books of poetry entitled Vehemence: In Silence We Weep, and, I Am: The Tiny Mustard Seed (self published), depicting much of the pain endured. This suffering has fueled much of my poetry.
