About

Wes Blalock, a retired police officer and recipient of both Valor and Lifesaving awards, also taught law enforcement techniques and adult learning concepts at the police academy. Mr. Blalock obtained a Bachelors Degree in English (Writing) from Charter Oak State College and is an avid outdoorsman and conservationist who hikes and backpacks recreationally with his wife of twenty-five years. His work has appeared in Close 2 the Bone, Kings River Life, Fiction on the Web, CC&D, and Over My Dead Body Magazine. His work was awarded 7th Place in the Writers Digest Writing Competition, 2nd Place in the B. Dalton Bookseller Short Story Contest, reached the quarterfinals of the Screencraft Short Story Competition, and received an honorable mention in the Barbara Kyle Novel Excerpt Competition.
