About

A physician and writer, MO H. SAIDI was born in Iran, moved to the United States in 1969, and became an American citizen in 1975. Saidi has won a first-place award of the Iowa Poetry Association, and in that same year, he earned a master’s degree in English and American literature and language from Harvard University. Saidi has published a book of essays regarding women’s health issues, three collections of poetry; a collection of short fiction, The Garden of Milk and Wine; and in 2015, The Marchers: A Novel. His recent novel, Esther: A Novel, will be published by Word Design Press in the fall of 2019. Saidi has won local, state, and national awards, and his work has appeared in the local, state, and national anthologies and literary magazines including Poet Magazine, and the Poetry Foundation website, in the anthologies of the NFSPS and PST, and Poetry section of the SA Express-News. Saidi is married and has three adult children and four grandchildren.
