About

Donald J. Palmisano, MD, JD, is a New Orleans native, a USAF veteran and graduate of Tulane Medical School and Loyola Law School. He was a surgeon in private practice from 1970 - 2005. Hurricane Katrina removed the roof from his home, destroyed his practice and the hospital in New Orleans East. He starting writing books while living in a trailer for a year during the repair of his home. His books are based on his extensive experience teaching medical students, residents, and giving speeches worldwide. He has done over 1000 speeches and interviews. In 1984-85, he was president of the Louisiana State Medical Society and in 2003-2004 he was president of the American Medical Association. His books include ON LEADERSHIP, and THE LITTLE RED BOOK OF LEADERSHIP LESSONS. His is latest book is available from Skyhorse Publishing on April 7, 2020, A LEADER'S GUIDE ON GIVING A MEMORABLE SPEECH. It is based on lessons he learned over the years giving speeches and his popular elective course at Tulane Medical School, LEADERSHIP: HOW TO GIVE A MEMORABLE SPEECH.
